Sawkhat’s and Shamad’s story

Sawkhat Shah and Shamad Shah are two kids of Jumina Khatoon. They migrated to Kathmandu from Saralahi District 7 years ago. Jumina Khatoon met Juju Kaji during the Tea for Free Campaign while offering free tea to the kids on the street.

Jumina is a single mother taking care of three kids, with minimal source of income.
Previously, she and her kids were begging on the streets of Kathmandu. Nowadays, she has an improved life style and works as a daily wage earner to nurture her young kids. But the money she earns is still not enough to pay for the education of her kids.

Jumina visited Heart Beat with the hope to get support for the admission fees for her kids. She feared that her kids would be kicked out of school, because she is not able to pay all the costs. She mentioned that her kids are doing well at school. She does not want her kids to drop out of school because of her poverty.
We need your help to support those children, who really do not want to drop out of school. Their mother’s biggest wish is that her children will be able to finish their educations and have a great future.
